Beat Presser - Once Around the World

March 11, 2018

From 11 March to 26 April 2018, the Michael Horbach Foundation in Cologne presents the exhibition Einmal um die Welt – a major showcase of works by Leica photographer Beat Presser.
The exhibition Einmal um die Welt (Once Around the World) by Beat Presser will be displayed within the art space of the Michael Horbach Foundation in Cologne from 11 March to 26 April 2018. The Leica photographer is known for his extremely multi-faceted oeuvre – spanning from experimental and architectural photography to fashion and portrait work, from landscapes to urban scenes, from advertising projects to teaching appointments at international photography and film universities.

His work has been published in several books and exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions around the world. The Michael Horbach Foundation has invited the Swiss-born photographer to compile a selection of images from his extensive archive that would culminate in a journey to the ends of the Earth. The resulting exhibition takes the viewer into the Swiss Alps, to the film sets of Werner Herzog in Peru, Brazil, Ghana and the Baltic States; to Buddhist monasteries in Burma, Korea and Ladakh; to the Moai statues on Easter Island; to Egypt and Madagascar; and on a voyage in the Indian Ocean on a traditional Dhow sailing vessel.
