5 Years – Six Artists

January 1, 2016

With the '5 Years – Six Artists' exhibition opening on January 15, 2016, the Cologne gallery manager Bene Taschen is celebrating five years since the creation of his Hardhitta Gallery.
In existence since 2011, the Hardhitta Gallery is celebrating its fifth anniversary on January 15, 2016. Within the framework of its jubilee exhibition '5 Years – Six Artists', gallery manager Bene Taschen is presenting works by Arlene Gottfried, Jamel Shabazz, Gregory Bojorquez, Joseph Rodriguez, Miron Zownir and Oliver Blum. He is displaying a selection of works that will be seen for the first time in Germany.

From temporary to permanent
For four years, the Hardhitta Gallery organized temporary exhibitions in Los Angeles,
Berlin and Cologne, before setting up a permanent gallery space in down town Cologne in October 2015.

Documentary style
The five artists represented by the gallery are famous for a documentary style offering deep insight into bizarre and joyful, but also eccentric and melancholic, moments in life. Oliver Blum's dynamic-experimental painting style rounds off the jubilee exhibition with his colour-intensive and abstract work.
