A retrospective by German photographer Andreas Trogisch (born 1959 in Riesa, Germany) continues at the Forum für Fotografie in Cologne until June 12, 2016. Trogisch is a master of monochrome contrasts and complex, nuance-rich visual textures. Both in his photographs and book publications, he strives for a high print quality whose sharpness, tonal purity and tactile qualities are reminiscent of traditional copper-plate photogravure prints.
The exhibition ‘Bis Jetzt’ (Until Now) comprises a selection of photographs created over the course of the past thirty years, taken from the series ‘Replies’, ‘Runway’ and ‘Aphasia’ – all of which have also been published as photo-books.
In addition, the show presents more recent cityscapes (shot in colour) as well as a series of images captured during the last years of the GDR. Titled ‘Vineta’, this series is also presented in the form of a photo-book for the duration of the exhibition.
