"The Portrait of a Spanish Village" exhibition opens on 9th January at the Barx Cultural Centre (ESP) and runs till 9th February 2015.
The little mountain village of Barx nestled in the Safor mountains is a thriving community of 1300 inhabitants of all ages with a lively programme of traditional cultural and religious activities throughout the year.

Through the decades, due to its relative geographic isolation, it has become a self sufficient village which manages through its strong community and family values to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and a high quality of life for all its citizens.

Barx, and its suburb of La Drova, has attracted a cosmopolitan range of residents who are drawn by the unspoilt and rich lifestyle this little village has to offer. It is an island of peace, tranquillity and beauty – a rare gem to be preserved and appreciated in our fast paced modern age.

Schadeberg: “This exhibition is my hommage to Barx and its people who have welcomed me so warmly and made me feel so much at home.”
