Leica Gallery Istanbul hosts Magnum photographer Bruno Barbey for its first exhibition of 2019. The exhibition presents a selection from the artist’s book My Morocco which is one of the four books he produced on Morocco where he spent first 12 years of his life. Through the photographs Barbey captured during his visits to his birthtown between 1970-2000, one could embark on a journey through time.
The artist has photographed in five continents in over fifty years. His photographs, dealing with war and conflict in Nigeria, Vietnam, The Middle East, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Quwait, attracted great attention worldwide. Having published more than 30 books with international publishing houses and being included in world-renowned magazines, Barbey previously had another exhibition in Leica Gallery Frankfurt.
