Open Call: Images Gibellina

Sicily’s former Gibellina PhotoRoad festival is being relaunched under the new name of Images Gibellina, and turned into a biennial that will alternate with its Swiss sister event, Images Vevey. Consequently, Images Gibellina will always take place in even-numbered years, followed by Images Vevey the year after.

The first edition of the Images Gibellina photography and visual arts biennial is scheduled to take place in Gibellina, central Sicily, from July 30 to August 29, 2021.

The topic of the debut edition is ‘Multiplicity’ – the submission deadline is May 10, 2021. Participants will be selected by a jury comprised of Arianna Catania (Director of the Images Gibellina festival), Raphaël Biollay (Curator / Production Manager of the Images Vevey Festival, Switzerland), Enzo Fiammetta (Director of the Museum Fondazione Orestiadi, Gibellina), Laura Serani (Director of the Planches Contact Festival, France), Michael Weir (Director of the Belfast Photo Festival, UK), Louise Fedor-Clément (Director of the Format Festival, UK), Massimo Siragusa (Director of Plenum Fotografia Contemporanea, Catania, Sicily) and Luisa Briganti (Director of Centro Sperimentale di Fotografia Adams, Rome).
