An overdose of mango

April 9, 2017

From April 7 to May 27, the Waldmann Gallery in Hamburg is presenting the group exhibition ‘NO MANGO PLEASE’.
Starting April 7, the Waldmann Gallery in Hamburg is presenting the group exhibition NO MANGO PLEASE. The show remains on display till May 27.

The theme of NO MANGO PLEASE is based on an aversion to mangos, which probably has less to do with the taste, than with the impression that, since its sudden appearance in the country, in food, in desserts and in drinks a few years ago, it’s hard to believe that there was ever a life without mangos.

The mango’s income strategy stands in opposition to the NO MANGO PLEASE motto. The exhibition is dedicated to the motto, where everything revolves around the mango: it is left up to each artist – Annekathrin Schreiber, Anne-Laure Robin, Arndt von Hoff, Caro Mantke, Christoph Himmel, Edisonga, Hayley Austin, Marc Peschke, Martin Timmermann, Maya Darli, Oliver Schwarzwald, Ralph Baiker, Ruben Riermeier, Silke Baltruschat and Stefan Thurmann – to decide whether to approach it with rejection, affection or complete indifference.
