Fast Fashion

March 18, 2015

From 20 March to 20 September 2015, the Museum for Arts and Crafts (MKG) in Hamburg presents the exhibition "Fast Fashion. The Dark Side of Fashion".
"Fast Fashion. The Dark Side of Fashion" takes a critical look behind the scenes of the textile industry, encouraging viewers to consciously address the issues surrounding fashion and consumerism.

Centred on the interlinked themes of Consumerism, Economy and Ecology, the exhibition investigates the global system of the clothing industry, along with its socio-economic and ecological impact.

At the same time, the exhibition introduces viable alternatives in the form of sustainable fashion. In the section "Slow Fashion Labour", visitors gain insights into the ethically responsible wardrobe of the future. It also illustrates the power of the consumer to influence the status quo with their buying choices.

The participating artists are Taslima Akhter, Susanne A. Friedel, Christin Losta, Tim Mitchell, Elisa van Joolen, Manu Washaus and Paolo Woods.
