From April 1 to May 31, 2015, the Haus der Photographie at the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg is presenting photographic essays by twelve outstanding, young European photographers, focussing on the theme of “The New Social”.

The theme refers to the political, social and cultural changes that allow for new forms of democratic participation in Europe, while also demanding a critical assessment of social values. The photographers' essays deal with new lifestyles, manners, and forms of communication, as well as changing working conditions, and questions of mobility and cultural identity.

The end of a touring exhibition
The exhibition at the Haus der Photographie at the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg marks the end of a touring exhibition that passed through Oslo, Lucca and Paris. An English language catalogue was produced for the exhibition by Journal Publishers, in Stockholm. The third round of the European Photo Exhibition Award, focussing on the theme of "Shifting Boundaries − Landscapes of Ideals and Realities in Europe", is in preparation.
