This retrospective, marking the centenary of Peter Keetman’s (1916-2005) birth, honours his photographic life’s work. The exhibition reveals the relationship of Keetman’s photography to both the fotoform group of the fifties, as well as the Neues Sehens (New Vision) and Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity) photographies that started in the twenties, and follows his exceptional body of work all the way into the nineties. Many of Keetman’s motifs were found in his immediate surroundings. In particular, and despite a its coolness and distance, it reflects a great respect for nature, from panorama landscapes to detailed pictures.
