From 19 June to 2 July 2015, the Steinstraße Underground Station in Hamburg serves as the public venue for the exhibition "Changing Realities – Images of a World in Transition". Initiated by the Society for Humanistic Photography (GfHF), the exhibition encompasses the works of 14 photographers. The event takes place as part of Hamburg's 6th Triennial of Photography.
Little Utopias, Grand Visions
In recent years, Europe has shown itself mainly as a continent in crisis. However, there are many other stories waiting to be told: those of the small utopias and grand visions individual people have implemented in their everyday lives, creating models for sustainable living in a globalised world. Crossing borders, the participating photographers went in search for this other Europe.
The works on display are created by Lela Ahmadzai, Toby Binder, Laura Böök, Marc Brinkmeier, Linda Dreisen, Maria Feck, Michael Heck, Hannes Jung, Michael Löwa, Daniel Rihs, Gordon Welters and Gerhard Westrich. Their artistic approaches are as diverse as the themes they address, with forms of presentation ranging from black-and-white to colour series, conceptual works, portraits and reportages.
