Fractured Views

July 21, 2015

The exhibition 'Perspectives – Fractures in City and Landscapes' by Tom Krausz opens at the Galerie für Fotografie in Hanover on 22 July.
From 23 July to 30 August 2015, the Galerie für Fotografie (GaF) in Hanover presents the exhibition 'Perspectives – Fractures in City and Landscapes' with the works of Hamburg-based photographer Tom Krausz. The series is an exploration of German landscapes and cityscapes where social fractures have manifested a tangibly visible form. In some of his images, these visual disruptions are immediately apparent. In others, their presence is more subtle – a quietly disruptive element that irritates the eye and has to be consciously identified.

Homage to 'American Prospects' by Joel Sternfeld
Krausz views his series 'Perspectives' as a homage to the book 'American Prospects' by Joel Sternfeld, in which the American photographer documents the social upheavals in the US during the 1980s.
