'Stags, Hens & Shorditch Wild Life', an exhibition of works by Dougie Wallace, will be on display at the GAF Galerie für Fotografie in Hanover from February 17 to March 27, 2016.
Beyond the imagination
Even if stag and hen parties in Germany are getting increasingly out of hand, the mostly chance moments that the Scottish photographer captured during a number of years in England far surpass anything we can imagine.
Of stags and hens
In 'Stags, Hens & Bunnies', Wallace brings the most crass human derailment to light. Every week-end hoards of young men and women – the stags and the hens – descend on the coastal city of Blackpool to celebrate the farewell to their lives as bachelors. In close-up, expressive pictures, Wallace offers us a debauchery of fun.
The scene in Shoreditch, East London is also chaotic, with merry confusion in every quarter. During the daytime, Wallace wanders through the narrow streets and markets, at night time through the pubs, capturing pictures of the colourful mass of profilers.
