Triennial of Photography in Hamburg

June 4, 2018

Reflect, unlearn, rethink, restart: The 7th Triennial of Photography takes place in Hamburg from June to October 2018.
The 7th edition of the Triennial of Photography is set to take place in Hamburg from June to October 2018. This year’s topic – BREAKING POINT – aims to inspire audiences to reconsider familiar terms of modern life, such as ENTER!, SHIFT!, SPACE! or ESCAPE!. In addition to exploring contemporary visual art from a different angle, the exhibited works are intended to inspire a dialogue about constructs that are difficult to express with words.

A multi-faceted programme of exhibitions, portfolio viewings and conferences will take place not only in Hamburg’s Deichtorhallen exhibition centre, but also a number of additional venues across the city. Accompanying events include a Photobook Space, a waterborne photographic platform, as well as various educational projects. In addition, the OFF TRIENNIAL (7 to 17 June) presents several group exhibitions in selected venues around Hamburg.

The triennial kicks off on 7 June – we will offer additional programme information throughout the next few days in order to reflect the broad spectrum of events on offer.
