Cruis’n Elements

August 5, 2016

Leica Gallery Frankfurt shows ‘Cruis’n Elements’, a group exhibition dedicated to surfing and skating. On view until August 27, 2016.
On 1 July, the group exhibition Cruis’n Elements opened at the Leica Gallery Frankfurt, featuring surfing and skating images by Fred Mortagne, Patrick Trefz, LeRoy Grannis, Jeff Divine, Hugh Holland and John Witzig. The photographs will be on display until August 27, 2016.

Fred Mortagne a.k.a. FrenchFred has firmly established himself in Leica circles with his campaign marking the launch of the SL system. The exhibition includes several of his images taken with the SL, in which he skillfully captures skaters against the backdrop of urban architecture. Hugh Holland is represented with early skating scenes from the 1960s to 1980s.

The exhibition theme moves from the city streets to the ocean waves with the work of documentary film-maker Patrick Trefz, while photographs by Jeff Divine and LeRoy Grannis document the surf culture of the 1960s and 70s.
