The Leica Gallery in Frankfurt currently presents the Les formes du chaos exhibition with images by Magnum photographer Jean Gaumy. The exhibition, which represents a collaboration with the Magnum Photos Agency will remain on display until June 11, 2016.

Jean Gaumy (*1948) already started working as an editor and photographer to finance his studies. In 1976, during the Rencontres d'Arles Photo Festival, he caught the attention of Magnum photographers Marc Riboud and Bruno Barbey; a year later Gaumy was also a member of the agency.

The French photographer's work specializes in detailed pictures of nature, which at first glance deliberately aim to baffle the viewer. In his shapes of chaos he encourages the interpretative talent of the viewer, while conveying the fascination for that which appears in the pictures – namely, nature.
