Up until January 31, 2016, the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt is presenting Dépaysé, an exhibition of works by the Canadian photographer.

In the Dépaysé exhibition by Serge Clément, the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt is presenting fifty black and white photographs and an oversized artist's book. These pieces were taken during his more than forty year career as a photographer.

For Clément, photography was always closely linked to the book. In particular, with the idea in the back of his mind that in a book individual pictures relate to each other. On the one hand, this suggests that a picture is like a leaky container – with smoke, mist, streams and rivers, reflections and streets running through the image. On the other hand, time and again Serge Clément questions the possibilities of photography to capture reality.

Serge Clément (*1950) has been a photographer since the early seventies. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions around the world, and is represented is many public as well as private collections.
