EYES WIDE OPEN!
EYES WIDE OPEN!
March 11, 2015
Fred Herzog - Man with Bandage, 1968
Around 500 photographs and documents from the Leica Archives illustrate the history of small-format photography – addressing the medium's technological as well as artistic evolution from the earliest beginnings to this day. Set across two floors, the exhibition investigates various aspects of recent small-format photography, from journalistic strategies to documentary and artistic approaches.
Instead of offering an isolated view of the Leica camera and its history, the attention is focused on the visual revolution that was sparked by this technological innovation.
The exhibition is complemented by a wide programme of workshops, seminars and guided tours. A richly illustrated exhibition catalogue is also available – for details and to place an order visit LFI-Shop
