When Kirsten Becken and Veronika Faustmann founded the collective femalephotographers.org in 2018, their aim was to support each other and increase the visibility of fine-art photography created by women artists. Since then, the community has grown to include more than twenty members. Among them are Katharina Bosse, Julia Fullerton-Batton and, most recently, Leica photographer Maggie Steber. Now the artists are planning their first joint project: with the aid of crowdfunding, the collective intends to publish a book in collaboration with other photographers and authors, accompanied by a group exhibition.
