Felix Schoeller Photo Award

August 18, 2015

The finalists for the Felix Schoeller Photo Award 2015 have been selected. 143 high-calibre submissions from 32 countries have been shortlisted.
The international Felix Schoeller Photo Award for professional photographers enters the final stage. 143 entries have been shortlisted by the five-member jury under the chairmanship of Michael Dannenmann (BFF/DGPh). At the end of August, the jury will determine a winner in each of the five categories, as well as the winner of the Emerging Photographer Award. The award ceremony takes place on 27 September 2015 at the Cultural History Museum in Osnabrück, where the selected works will subsequently be displayed until 17 January 2016.

Broad Spectrum and High Levels of Quality
The entries for this year's Felix Schoeller Photo Award reflect a very broad spectrum of international contemporary photography. "It is striking that numerous pieces of work in several categories explore critical social issues," says Michael Dannenmann. "Young photographers in particular address political and social injustices. It will be interesting to see how the jury discuss this aspect."

The jury stated that the overall quality of entries is remarkably high – an affirmation of the fact that the award has achieved international standing despite being only in its second year.
