Deep down, we all know that our current consumer behaviour is ecologically untenable, and has been for a long time. However, rather than commit ourselves to searching for alternatives, we quietly accept factory farming for the convenience of having our ‘daily meat’. In the name of fashion, we wear clothes that have been produced under heart-wrenchingly cruel conditions. In our spare time we visit zoos to look at animals imprisoned far from their natural habitat.

Forty photographers have joined forces to create the project ‘HIDDEN – Animals in the Anthropocene’, which will be on show at the f3 – Space for Photography in Berlin from February 12 to April 18, 2021. Among them are some of the world’s leading wildlife photographers, such as Daniel Beltrá, Aaron Gekoski and Britta Jaschinski. The accompanying book (published by We Animals Media) can be purchased at the gallery throughout the exhibition period.
