The European Week of Photography takes place in Berlin from March 2nd to 31st, 2023,
with a rich programme of showcases and events addressing contemporary approaches.

The 10th edition of EMOP Berlin – organised by the Kulturprojekte Berlin initiative – once again provides a platform for leading players in Berlin’s photography scene, a selection of outstanding artists, as well as the city’s museums, galleries, educational facilities and artist-run spaces, to come together in the context of one major festival.

Around 100 exhibitions will be showcased in venues ranging from the Helmut Newton Foundation and the C/O Berlin, to the German Historical Museum and the Academy of Fine Arts. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the multi-faceted applications of the photographic medium from ever-new perspectives, discover contemporary formats and engage with current questions and themes.

Among many other events, the festival programme includes the anniversary exhibition ‘Touch. Politiken der Berührung’ at the Amtsalon art centre, the special exhibition ‘Drängende Gegenwart. Perspectives of a New Generation’ by Berlin’s photography academies, as well as an opening weekend with international guests.
