"A Kodak creates a sensation…" is the title of this image, showing the pioneering American photojournalist Frances Benjamin Johnston amidst a group of curious children. The photograph was taken in the late 19th century, when the sight of a camera really did still cause a flurry of excitement.

Images have the power to convey life situations and circumstances, and to present them to a public audience in an accessible manner. Understanding this process, however, requires a specific set of skills. The DGPh Education Award seeks to address this theme by supporting innovative and sustainable projects in the field of visual communication, as well as practice-based scientific projects.
Applications can be uploaded as PDF files at DGPh, or sent by mail. Press reviews may be enclosed, if applicable. Participants submitting a degree thesis must do so in printed form.
The winner of the DGPh Education Award stands to receive 1,000 euros.
