The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2020 goes to the multi-media artist Mohamed Bourouissa.

The oeuvre of Mohamed Bourouissa (b. 1978) spans across the genres of photography, video, painting and sculpture. His work is centred around examinations of socio-economic processes and invisible tensions between different social milieus. His installation Free Trade has now been chosen for the prestigious Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize.

The winner of this year’s award, which carries a cash prize of 30,000 British Pounds, was announced in the course of an online presentation at the Photographers’ Gallery in London.

The jury members of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2020 were Martin Barnes (Senior Curator of Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum), Melanie Manchot (London-based artist and photographer), Joachim Naudts (Curator at the FOMU Foto Museum in Antwerp), Anne-Marie Beckmann (Director of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, Frankfurt am Main), and Brett Rogers (Director of The Photographers' Gallery) in the position of non-voting chair.
