The organisers of the Cortona On the Move photo festival have established an online platform: ‘The Covid-19 Visual Project: A Time of Distance’.
The team behind Italy’s Cortona On the Move festival has launched an online platform: ‘The Covid-19 Visual Project: A Time of Distance’ is intended to serve as a permanent, continuously expanding archive to document the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on people’s lives around the globe.

The first projects to be featured on the platform are ‘Covid on Scene’ by Alex Majoli (tracing the lockdown from Northern Italy to the country’s south), ‘Support Local Business’ by Gabriele Galimberti (reflecting on the new popularity of local shops), and the series ‘Made in Italy’ by Mattia Balsamini and Raffaele Panizza, which illustrates how non-specialist manufacturers are switching their production to medical and healthcare items.

Numerous photographers are already lined up to contribute to the platform in due course – among them Carolina Arantes (France), Nanna Heitmann (Russia), Paolo Woods (Italy), Daniel Etter (Germany), Mashid Mohadjerin (Belgium), Silvia Bigi (Italy) and Michele Spatari (South Africa).
