The Campredon Art Centre in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, South of France, presents the exhibition ‘From Archive to History – Howard Greenberg Gallery’, showing from 9 March to 9 June 2019.

From 9 March to 9 July 2019, the Campredon Art Centre in the Southern-French town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue presents the exhibition ‘De l’archive à l’histoire’ (From Archive to History). Curated by Anne Morin, the showcase offers exciting insights into the vast archives of legendary New York gallerist Howard Greenberg. In the course of a career spanning over four decades, the gallery owner has built a collection encompassing some 30,000 prints created by the most famous photographers of the twentieth century.

From this unique treasure trove, curator Anne Morin compiled a selection of outstanding works by photography legends such as Berenice Abbott, Manuel Álvarez Bravo, William Eggleston, Walker Evans and Man Ray, Saul Leiter, Helen Levitt, as well as ‘Leica Hall of Fame Award’ winners Bruce Davidson and Joel Meyerowitz.
