Last Call!

The C/O Berlin Talent Award is unique within Europe, in that it recognises the practical and theoretical aspects of photography in equal measure. The annual grant is awarded in two categories: ‘Artist’ (comprising a fine-art photo project), and ‘Theorist’ (consisting of a written examination of the selected photo project). Applications for the ‘Theorist’ category are accepted until April 28, 2023. The grant money of 10,000 euros is divided between the two category winners.

The tandem projects will be presented in a dedicated exhibition at the C/O Berlin, as well as an accompanying catalogue. The task of the ‘Theorist’ is to examine the selected fine-art series in the form of an essay and an interview, both of which will be featured in the final publication. The project chosen within this year’s ‘Artist’ category has already been completed. It is rooted in the fields of artistic research and visual archives, with a focus on anthropology, sociology and the relationship between man and nature.
