The photographs on display are independent works, many of which have never been exhibited before. Shot in high-contrast black and white, Dziworski’s analogue images give insight into everyday life in Polish cities during the second half of the twentieth century. “The pictures I took during those years were never staged,” the photographer explains. “They are the result of walking, day in day out, sometimes for eight hours at a time. You have to wait for the precise moment in which a scene arises from reality. And you have to be lucky — which I tended to be.”
The opening takes place today at 7pm.
