Up Close

From 22 September, a selection of portraits by Martin Schoeller will be on display at the CWC Gallery in Berlin. This marks the first time new works from Schoeller’s world-renowned series Close Up are showcased in Germany.

The selected images feature famous personalities such as Barack Obama, Elton John, Cher, Bono, Karlie Kloss, Christian Bale and Bill Gates. However, they are interspersed with portraits of unfamiliar faces and close-ups of people living on the streets – always captured in the artist’s unique and mesmerising visual style. Schoeller’s latest photo book, also titled Close, was released earlier this year. The exhibition, which will continue in Berlin until 17 November, forms part of the European Month of Photography.
