The Body as a Sculpture

Berlin’s Camera Work Gallery presents a showcase of photographs by Andreas H. Bitesnich, open from 1 September to 13 October 2018. Encompassing more than 30 images, the solo show includes major works from the artist’s oeuvre, along with excerpts from his new series, ‘Momentum’. A photo book of the same title will be published in parallel to the exhibition. The displayed images offer an insight into the remarkable body of work created by Andreas H. Bitesnich, who ranks among the leading nude photographers of our time. The exhibition revolves around beautifully orchestrated studies of the male and female form, as well as a selection of the artist’s striking architectural works.

Born 1964 in Vienna, the self-taught artist has been dedicated to portrait, nude and travel photography since 1988. His visual language is form-based and sculptural – a style that is reflected in his landscape and nude photographs alike. Bitesnich’s work has been published in numerous photo books, and is frequently exhibited in venues all around the world.
