In the Light

November 26, 2015

From 27 November 2015 to 16 January 2016, the 206 Gallery in Berlin presents the exhibition In the Light with photographs by Vincent Peters.
On 26 November, the exhibition 'In the Light' with works by Vincent Peters opens at the 206 Gallery in Berlin – the opening reception starts at 18.00. Curated by Harald Theiss, the show will be on display until 16 January 2016.

Interplay of Light and Shadow
The German-born photographer spent just one day jobbing at H&M before deciding to leave for New York, where he established himself as a 'chronicler of vanity' in his work as a fashion photographer – capturing the most iconic fashion and movie stars of our time. 'In the Light' contains a selection of large-format, black and white portraits, whose perfect composition and virtuous interplay of light and shadow references the classic Hollywood glamour of the 1940s.

Experiment and Reflection
The analogue photographs move between visual experiment and allusions to a deeper theme: Peters does not simply capture his subjects' physical beauty, but also references the aesthetic expectations that define our society.
The photographer will be present at the opening reception, and will be available to sign copies of his book publication 'The Light Between Us'.
