The exhibition Corpus Delicti – Three Contemporary Views on Nude Photography and Staging the Body will be showing at The Ballery in Berlin from 20 September to 21 October 2018 – featuring works by Sonia Szósak, Simon Lohmeyer and Steven Kohlstock.
The Ballery, a dynamic art gallery in the heart of Berlin-Schöneberg, presents the showcase Corpus Delicti, comprising photographs by Sonia Szóstak, Simon Lohmeyer and Steven Kohlstock. Curated by Nadine Dinter, the exhibition articulates a contemporary status quo on the subject of nude photography and staging the body. It also takes up the current discourse on how much nudity is appropriate for display on social media and in public.

“Nudity is the most intimate and personal part of my work,” Polish photographer Sonia Szóstak explains. “I also do a lot of fashion and travel shoots, both of which rely on careful planning and preparation. Nude photography is different: you have to wait for that special moment. It is so much more than simply the depiction of a naked body.”
