Variations of Sand

On 10 March, the Petra Lange Gallery will be hosting a book release party for Sven Hoffmann's 'Sand/Volume I', published by H2SF. Starting at 19.00, the event also opens the photographer's accompanying exhibition. 'Sand/Volume I' presents an astoundingly diverse kaleidoscope of sand samples from around the world, documented and archived with scientific precision.

Sven Hoffmann (born 1965) studied painting and photography at the Berlin University of Arts. He has lectured at various photography institutes both within Germany and abroad, and has received numerous grants and awards. He gained international attention with the photography project 'Aqua Globalis', which he initiated in the nineties.
