Many of the most iconic images embedded in our collective consciousness have been captured with a Leica M: from moments of world-historical significance to random everyday encounters, from portraits of famous personalities to images of nameless protagonists. The exhibition Leica – Magic Moments encompasses works by some 40 remarkable photographers, including Leica legends such as Henri Cartier-Besson, René Burri, Sebastião Salgado, Martine Franck and Herlinde Koelbl.
The selection, which spans six decades, brings together a broad spectrum of artistic approaches and visual styles, with subjects ranging from iconic personalities such as Mother Teresa or the Beatles all the way to unknown travellers, playing children and anonymous passers-by. What all of these outstanding works have in common is the tool their authors chose to create them: the Leica M.
