On 29 November 2016, the Ostkreuz Society for Photography will hold a panel debate on the topic ‘Our View of the Image – Manipulation in Photojournalism’.

The debate about the manipulation of images not only flares up every year in the wake of the World Press Photo awards, but also preoccupies editors, photographers and art directors on a daily basis. The Ostkreuz Association has now invited industry members to discuss the topic of digital manipulation from different angles.

Among the panellists is Hamburg-based photographer Peter Bialobrzeski, whose series Kochi Diaries is featured in LFI 1/2017, available from 16 December 2016. Also on the panel are Lutz Fischmann (managing director of Freelens, Hamburg), Dr. Jürgen Reiche (head of the Contemporary History Forum, Leipzig), Julian Röder (photographer, Berlin) and Petra Schrott (head of the taz editorial office, Berlin).

The event takes place in the Red Salon of the Volksbühne, located at Berlin’s Rosa-Luxemburg Square, and starts at 20.00.
