The NEUE GALERIE BERLIN, founded and managed by Tanja von Unger, is opening on October 10. The aim of the gallery is to offer photographers and, above all, photo journalists, a space and the possibility to present their work not only through the media, but to the broader general public.
Exhibition with discussion group
"Images of the World – World of Imagery" is the starting exhibition and event to launch the NEUE GALERIE BERLIN. It will be on display up until December 1. Well-known photographers such as video journalist Julia Leeb and the film maker and author Désirée von Trotha will be presenting impressive pictures from a diversity of places around the globe.
Within the framework of the gallery opening on October 10, there will be a discussion between the photographer Désirée von Trotha and Uwe-Karsten Heye, founder of the "Gesicht zeigen!" Association, talking about the current refugee debate as well as the situation in countries suffering civil war and the causes for flight and displacement. It will take place between 4 and 5:30pm.
