From Baselitz to Warhol

Share:

Encompassing some 180 photographs spanning the years from 1917 to 2000, the exhibition Künstler Komplex – Fotografische Porträts von Baselitz bis Warhol not only showcases a broad range of different portrait styles, but also serves as a fascinating Who’s Who compilation of twentieth-century artists.

Famous and lesser known photographers – including Berenice Abbott, Brassaï, Henri-Cartier Bresson, Helga Fietz or Jérôme Schlomoff – are represented with iconic portraits of fellow creatives such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons and Marina Abramović. All works on display were selected from the extensive collection of Angelika Platen.
