I Create Man In My Own Image, an exhibition of works by Gavin Evans, will be on display at Capitis Studios in Berlin, from September 8 to 29, 2018.
His pictures of David Bowie are legendary, revealing a vulnerable side to the musician. Taken in 1995, they were replicated numerous times; Bowie even hung up a print in his studio. At Capitis, the Berlin-based Evans is showing the best portraits taken during his years of working for Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and Paris Match, which include Nick Cave, Iggy Pop, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Gary Oldman and Juliette Binoche – unsparing and honest, in line with the motto “one should test the limits”.
