Made in Berlin

May 26, 2018

The group exhibition Made in Berlin will be on view at the city’s Camera Work Gallery from 26 May to 25 August 2018.
From 26 May to 25 August 2018, the Camera Work Gallery presents the exhibition Made in Berlin – featuring 100 works by around 20 German and international photography artists who have explored the architecture, subcultures, famous personalities and fashion scene of Germany’s capital city.

In addition to internationally renowned representatives of classic and contemporary photography, such as David LaChapelle, Elliott Erwitt and Anton Corbijn, the exhibition also features works by well-known German photographers whose professional or personal lives have been shaped by the city in various ways.

Martin Schoeller, for example, who currently lives in New York and ranks among the leading stars of portrait photography, completed his training at the Lette-Verein in Berlin. Jim Rakete was born and raised in Berlin, while celebrity portraitist Olaf Heine moved to Berlin from his home city of Hanover. Their portraits of Berlin’s most illustrious personalities such as Alexandra Maria Lara, Nina Hagen, Blixa Bargeld, Anna Loos, Harald Juhnke or Norbert Bisky, as well as bands such as Rammstein or The Boss Hoss seem like a Who’s Who of the city’s acting, music art scene through the ages.
