The exhibition title alludes to the experience of close proximity, by citing the 'radius of personal space' commonly experienced as 1 1/2 metres. In his work, Puklus documents his immediate environment: friends and flat-mates in his Budapest apartment, people and places of his everyday life. "I collect portraits of the people who surround me, I collect memories. I capture a moment whose magic is rooted in familiarity and intimacy. In other words, I capture stories of love, friendship and personal identity."
In parallel, the C/O Berlin presents the artist's first major solo exhibition within Germany, consisting of his conceptual work 'Handbook to the Stars' and 'Epic Love Story of a Warrior'. The show forms part of the venue's ongoing exhibition series 'Thinking about Photography'.
