Close Up!

February 2, 2015

Participants have been announced.
The C/O Berlin has joined up with the 65th Berlin International Film Festival to facilitate the project "Close Up!" – giving 13 young photographers the opportunity to try their hand at being professional photojournalists for the duration of the Berlinale Festival (5 to 15 February 2015).

Photojournalism is as tough as it can be glamorous. Red carpets, international film stars, audience reactions and glimpses behind the scenes: 13 young photographers set out to capture Berlin's international film festival in all its diversity. Each participant must decide on a theme, find their subjects and finally make their selection to create a photographic series.

The participants chosen for this year's "Close Up!" project are Zsolt Ficsór, Luisa Hanika, Kryštof Hluže, Semih Lakerta, Sophie Meuresch, Clara Nebeling, Joseph Wolfgang Ohlert, Nina-Marie Raasch, Paolo Raeli, Felix Steinhoff, Furkan Temir, Margarita María Valdivieso Beltrán and Lisa Winter.

On Sunday 15 February, the results of their work will be appraised by an expert jury at the C/O Berlin – the winners of 1st to 3rd prize each stand to receive a professional camera. All series will subsequently be presented to the public in an exhibition at the C/O Berlin (located at the Amerika Haus) until 19 February.
