Position before Pose

September 10, 2015

From September 11 to November 7, 2015, the GALERIE 206 at the Departmentstore Quartier 206 in Berlin is presenting Position before Pose, an exhibition of works by Armin Morbach.
The GALERIE 206 is happy to be presenting "Position before Pose", an exhibition of works by the German photographer Armin Morbach, as of September 11. After the great success of his first solo exhibition at CROSSOVER in Hamburg in autumn of 2014 and spring of 2015, part of that photography exhibition will now be on display at the DEPARTMENTSTORE QUARTIER 206 in Berlin up until November 7, 2015.

From stylist to photographer
After working very successfully as a stylist for the likes of Patrick Demarchelier, Karl Lagerfeld, Mario Testino, Ellen von Unwerth and Peter Lindbergh, it was in 2008 that Morbach (born 1971) decided to apply his look to his own photographic imagery. It is his precise and complex compositions that indisputably place him close to the legendary French photographer, Guy Bourdin, allowing his work to be presented in 2013 as part of the group exhibition "En compagnie de Guy Bourdin", on the occasion of a retrospective of Bourdin's work at the Hamburg Deichtorhallen.
