The Polaroids of Toni Meneguzzo

June 26, 2016

The exhibition 'Frammenti 20×25' is showing at the Galerie 206 in Berlin from June 30 to September 10, 2016.
The exhibition 'Frammenti 20×25' by Italian artist Toni Meneguzzo opens at the Galerie 206 (situated in Berlin's Quartier 206 Department Store) on June 29. Curated by Harald Theiss, the show is presented as part of the Berlin Fashion Week.

Toni Meneguzzo (born 1949) is an internationally renowned photography artist. During his more than three-decade-long career, he has predominantly worked as a fashion photographer for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Harper & Queen, Arena and the New York Times. His large-format Polaroids, featured in the editorials of leading fashion magazines, soon became his personal trademark.

Meneguzzo describes working with the 20×25 Polaroid camera as a pure and authentic experience, with no need for a photo lab given that the photographs self-develop in the air. He sees photography as a craft with which he seeks to both create and capture a sense of magic. The resulting images are unique and artistically composed. As well as being atmospherically elegant fashion photographs, they also have all the qualities of a timeless portrait.
