Journalists are invited to submit their entries for the Bayeux-Calvados Award for War Correspondents by June 6, 2016.
Submissions for the Bayeux-Calvados Award for War Correspondents are open until June 6, 2016. Entries can be made in the form of photographic series, radio and TV reportages or written text, with a focus on news stories involving the defence of freedom and democracy.

The Bayeux-Calvados Award consists of seven main prizes of 7,000 euros each, given out in different media categories, as well as a 3,000 euro Newcomer Award. The competition further includes three special prices whose winners receive between 3,000 and 4,000 euros each. Last year’s competition honoured the work of Emma-Jane Kirby, Wolfgang Bauer, Alex Crawford, Christian Werner, Pierre Sautreuil, Xavier Muntz, Mikhail Galustov and Christopher Reuter, with Heidi Levine even winning in two categories.

For the past 23 years, the Bayeux-Calvados Award has been drawing journalists from around the world to Normandy with a programme of discussions, presentations and exhibitions. This year’s event takes place from 3 to 9 October.
