Leica Fotografie International (LFI) and the BarTur Photo Award have joined forces to launch a new photo contest! Entries for the 2021 Photojournalist of the Year are accepted until May 22, 2021.
Pandemic, protests, armed conflict: dedicated photojournalists risk their lives for their profession. Leica Fotografie International (LFI) and the BarTur Award have launched a new photography contest to honour their achievements – and to encourage photojournalists at any stage of their career to continue their invaluable work.
Submissions for the 2021 Photojournalist of the Year Award are now open – the total prize money is $ 17,000.
Selected winners will be given the opportunity to use Leica equipment for a three-month period (with the possibility of an extension) to complete future projects or assignments – as well as the chance to meet with LFI’s picture editor, Carol Körting, who will offer expert guidance, suggestions and advice.
The winning works will also be presented in Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris and London in the form of travelling exhibitions.
