From 20 August to 24 October 2015, the winning works of this year's European Architectural Photography Award will be presented at the Science Park Gelsenkirchen. The exhibition encompasses the 28 most outstanding series entered for the internationally renowned award.
This year's European Architectural Photography Award revolved around the theme of 'Neighbours', referring to all facets of spacial proximity – between individuals or buildings, at a distance or close together, in discord or harmony.
264 photographers from 14 countries entered for this year's award. The jury's first choice was 'Gezi gegen Gentrifizierung' (Gezi against Gentrification) by Petra Gerschner. One of the competition's two second prizes went to Claudia Brust, the other to Leica photographer Julia Baier for her series 'Ein Fenster zum Hof' (A Window into the Courtyard). In addition, seven of the submitted series received Honourable Mentions.
