BFF Anniversary Exhibition

To mark its 50th anniversary, the Association of Freelance Photographers and Film Makers (BFF) presents four exhibitions in its founding city of Stuttgart, which will subsequently tour to Berlin and Hamburg. Stuttgart’s ‘Haus der Wirtschaft’ will host the showcases from 7 to 22 June 2019. Guided tours, talks and symposiums are set to complement the anniversary programme.

The group exhibition ‘Icons’ comprises 50 to 70 works by the association’s most renowned members and honorary members, while a further 100 BFF members are represented in the showcase ‘Your Signature – Endures’.

In addition, Thomas Billhardt and Volker Hinz will each be represented in a solo exhibition. Thomas Billhard ranks among the most important documentarists of socialist life in East Germany, while Volker Hinz recorded the 20th century in West Germany in equally unique images. Now both photographers will be recognised as Honorary Members of the BFF at the official anniversary celebrations on 6 June, and accepted into the BFF Hall of Fame.
