St Peters, NSW, Australia, 01/04/2014 Leica M (Typ 240), Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH f1.4, 1/125, ISO800 Iridient Developer, Adobe® Photoshop CC2017 http://tristanstill.com It's ok, I didn't feel anything is an ongoing series of intimate portraits in contemporary Australia. My subjects share a commonality of resistance to capitalist ideals and authority – they fiercely challenge cultural normative behaviours, practices and expectations through their actions and identities. It's ok, I didn't feel anything is a dialogue – between subject and photographer, between lovers, between friends. This series seeks to unmask among these fierce subjects a commonality of shared vulnerability, a sense of belonging but also loneliness – a sense of desired connection to each other in an ever more fucked up world.
