Light on the Move oksly
The night goes hand in hand with light. The idea of the modern city is born with synthetic light that conveys a classical, objective approach to the interpretation of metropolitan reality. By going against the usual perception of city lights, it is possible instead to construct a realm of fantasy and hyper-reality. In other words, it is similar to the parallel reality of artificial images, which more than anything else today can suggest futuristic meaning to the audience. For instance, the purpose of this photograph was to closely suggest the boundary between truth and fiction, between dreams and artificial surroundings, darkness that can be imagined and filled. Here, the colors are soft; there is no human presence. I used neither digital processing nor special effects to achieve the look in this photograph. It was the use of long exposure that allowed me to play with the subtle innate nightfall as well as the artificiality of light, and create the illusion that the city is not a city but instead a phantasmagorical world.
