To shoot his urban panoramas, HG Esch has always favoured the elevated vantage point of hills or tall buildings. Now, he has opened up a whole new range of possibilities with his ‘flying tripod’: a precision drone carrying his Leica S, custom-fitted with a microscope camera within the viewfinder for transmitting images to a monitor on the ground. Leica S (Typ 006), Elmarit-S 30 mm f/2.8 Asph, Summarit-S 70 mm f/2.5 Asph.

HG Esch

Hans-Georg Esch was born in Neuwied in 1964, and received a classic training in photography. He has been working as a free-lance architecture photographer for national and international architectural offices since 1989, and is considered one of the most renowned representatives of his field today.
