To shoot his urban panoramas, HG Esch has always favoured the elevated vantage point of hills or tall buildings. Now, he has opened up a whole new range of possibilities with his ‘flying tripod’: a precision drone carrying his Leica S, custom-fitted with a microscope camera within the viewfinder for transmitting images to a monitor on the ground. Leica S (Typ 006), Elmarit-S 30 mm f/2.8 Asph, Summarit-S 70 mm f/2.5 Asph.

You can see the feature article in LFI 6/2015, which comes out on August 14, 2015.

You can find an interview with the photographer on the LFI blog.

An exhibition catalogue is now available in the LFI Shop.
